What makes Flint River Ranch different?

Pet lovers have learned there is a considerable difference in the nutritional, digestibility and health value of natural foods in comparison to those foods containing chemical preservatives, fillers, artificial flavors and colors.  Pet lovers are concerned with providing the highest QUALITY food for their family companion and have an awareness of the health benefits of super premium foods.

FLINT RIVER RANCH Canine and Feline ALL-NATURAL Super Premium food products adhere to the traditions of quality in animal nutrition and health.  The best quality ingredients and higher digestibility are better for your pet's health and less expensive for you to feed.  The higher the digestibility, the more nutrients a family pet can absorb.  More nutrients mean more energy and better health.

There are no breakfast food by-products, cottonseed, corn cobs, peanut hulls, wood fibers, citrus pulp, soy beans, fillers or other foreign materials such as weeds, straw or chaff in Flint River Ranch foods.

FLINT RIVER RANCH Super Premium products are composed of natural ingredients of high quality poultry, fish, lamb, and grain.  These quality foods are fortified with vitamins and minerals like Vitamin C, E, B12, and zinc.  The formulas are carefully blended for optimum balance of proteins, fats, and carbohydrates for good health.

There are no artificial flavors, colors or chemical preservatives like Ethoxyquin, BHA, and BHT that are used in other pet foods.  The common chemicals used to prevent rancidity in pet food are BHA (butylated hydroxyanisole) and BHT (butylated hydroxytoluene) both known to cause liver and kidney dysfunction.  Another fat stabilizer often used is ETHOXYQUIN, suspected of being a cancer causing agent.  Propylene glycol, a cousin to antifreeze, is found in many semi-moist dog foods.

Any government health official or veterinary nutritionist that states feeding pets toxic chemicals will not have a deleterious effect on the pet's health has not fully studied the facts.  The use of chemical preservatives may be associated with dry skin, allergic reactions, dental disease, poor health, lack of energy, and degenerative organ dysfunction.

Pet food labeling

The vast array of pet foods available can cause tremendous confusion and most pet owners select their pet's diet based on the price or the effective hype of advertising campaigns, rather than for objective reasons.

Consumers have become "label readers" on both human and pet food.  They are starting to question pronouncements from the "experts" and "testing labs" on pet food labeling.  They have concerns that animal meat by-products may not actually provide a nourishing and balanced diet for pets.  Such by-products can include diseased and contaminated slaughterhouse meats, feathers, intestines, hair, animal road kills, euthanized companion animals and dehydrated garbage all rendered together and used in some pet foods.  They have additional concerns about the harmful effects in the use of chemical additives.

The use of low quality by-products and chemical preservatives may be associated with dry skin, allergic reactions, dental disease, poor health, and degenerative organ dysfunction.

Healthy pet diets can also mean less medical bills.  There is a strong link between high quality foods and the dynamic health of pets.

Sources of our grains and high quality meats

Grains are purchased from major commercial suppliers like General Mills-fully tested and retested when received.  This testing insures the very best quality and reduces the possibility of toxic molds.  Beware of claims of all-natural-holistic grain sources as this grain is cheaper when purchased direct from the farm and the risk of toxic molds is greater.

It is possible to put one organic chicken in 50 tons of food and legally say we use organic range fed chicken.  Some manufacturers take this option.  While we purchase as much organic chicken as possible, we prefer to more correctly say we use human quality chicken that is hormone free.  Like all of our ingredients, we pay a premium price for the very best available.

When you buy pet food, you're looking for nutrition.  Studies have shown that dogs were required to eat 2 to 4 times as much of an economy brand than a premium food to provide higher nutrition.  FLINT RIVER RANCH high density dog food will be cheaper to feed than other food costing less.  You will be able to see the difference in your pet's healthy skin, coat, and energy level.
